Flying fish and gargoyles share one thing in common; they can't fly, they glide.
A flying fish gathers speed as it swims, then jumps out of the water to glide for about 40 feet.
These "aqua-goyles" can use that same concept; they gain speed by swimming in a straight line as fast as they can.
When they reach the exact speed they need, they jump out of the water, and glide to their destination.
And if they need extra distance, they need to fall into the water, and do it again.
